STAAR TIME

REMEMBER:

Monday and Tuesday are fourth grade STAAR testing. Monday is math and Tuesday is Reading.

Important notes:

-get a good night's sleep

-eat a good breakfast

-come ready to rock it

-take your time

-no visitors will be allowed at school

-DONT FORGET TO BRING SOMETHING TO READ

Also, working on adaptions in science! Ask your child about the project they're doing for their adaptation!

Fourth Grade Performance

IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT!
This Thursday is the fourth grade performance during multicultural night. It will begin at six! Don't miss out- the kids have been working so hard!


Our egg drop was fantastic! It was so much fun!

We have been learning all about financial literacy- different types of interest, balance, financial institutions, and lots of vocabulary! Can't wait to continue!

We will begin learning about life science, too!

The year is winding down and I can't believe it! Three weeks away from STAAR Reading and Math!

April

officially April and officially one month away from the math STAAR test! So crazy, but I am so ready and these kids are doing some amazing things!

Next week, we will start financial literacy! This is one of my favorite things to teach because the kids get really into it. It is probably the most interesting to them because they have so many questions! They also have great example because they've sern so much of it in action through their parents. I love their curiosity!

In science, we will be designing our parachutes for the egg drop. I told the students to bring in materials, but I also said be resourceful! We don't want to have to buy a ton of things for this project! We are so thankful for all that you do anyway!

Multicultural night is April 20th, this is also the fourth grade performance! Mark your calendars!

Goodbye March

Wow! STAAR Writing came and went! Now looking forward to math and reading on May 8th and 9th!

In math we will continue to work with angles, shapes, and lines!

Science has been SO fun because we are doing a STEM project- building parachutes! I'm so excited! Ask your student about the parts to a parachute and what in the world is drag?

STAAR Test Countdown

STAAR Writing: 13 days (March 28)

STAAR Math: 54 days (May 8)

STAAR Reading: 55 days (May 9)

The end is approaching! So crazy! 

We are continuing learning measurement, but with perimeter and area! Next week we will be looking at time, too! 

In science, we have started one of my favorite things to teach: SPACE! This week we are talking about seasons and what causes them. Next week we will be looking at shadows and tides!

This Week!

IMPORTANT!

Next week is SPRING BREAK! The entire week will be free from school!

This week we are working in the metric system of measurement. I made a helpful video to go over how to convert. Hopefully it simplifies it. 😁

In science we will be wrapping up weather and the water cycle! 

All of this winds stuff down to our ASSEMBLY! This Friday at 9 am in the cafeteria!
